The Federal Government has declared Tuesday July 20 and Wednesday July 21, 2021 as public holidays to mark this year’s Eid-el-Kabir celebration.
The announcement was made by The Minister of Interior, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, on behalf behalf of the Federal Government.
Ina statement signed by the Aregbesola, he said “I call on Muslims to continue to imbibe the spirit of love, peace, kindness and sacrifice, as exemplified by the Holy Prophet Muhammad “ . He went ahead to also ask that we consider the challenges and insecurity of the nation as we pray for peace, unity, and the stability of our country Nigeria.
Aregbesola wished our Muslim faithfuls a happy Eid-el-Kabir celebration, and advised all Nigerians to take responsibility by reporting any suspicious and criminal activities to law enforcement agencies, especially during this festival.
He also advised citizens to observe all COVID-19 protocols including wearing of facemasks, hand washing and social distancing.
